Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary
The mechanical engineer will work in a wide range of areas usually working on the design, development, installation, and operation of products produced by the company, ability to use the principles of mechanical engineering to provide efficient, effective, economical and timely solutions to product and process development. These can range in scope from small component designs to extremely large and complex assemblies.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
o Work at the concept stage in research and development, searching for new engineering solutions.
o Develop new or existing products and processes.
o Use of creative and original thinking in the design process, from the definition of a specification to the approval of production drawings.
o Devising test regimes.
o Recommending modifications in the light of prototype test results.
o Discussing and solving complex problems with manufacturing departments, subcontractors, suppliers and customers.
o Designing and implementing cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety, reliability and throughput.
o Using research, analytical, conceptual and planning skills, particularly mathematical and modeling and computer-aided design.
o Working with other professionals, within and outside the engineering department.
o Research and analyze competition's products when applicable.
o Design and drafting of tooling and fixtures when needed.
o Organize, maintain and/or develop project management software.
o Initiate and promote APQP for new or changing products when applicable.
o Support the sales department for technical expertise, including presentation of proposals, and maintaining corporate relations.
o Assist sales during a new product launch
o Provide technical documents, videos, CAD models to sales when needed.
o All other duties as may be assigned by Manager.
Skills/Experience
o B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least two years' experience and/or demonstrated success in a similar role.
o Knowledge of QS9000, ISO9001:
2008 APQP process or ISO quality systems is required.
o Two years (min.) experience in the OE and/or aftermarket automotive parts industry is required.
o Knowledge of clutches and transmissions is a plus.
o Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
o Must be able to work with cross-functional teams and understand various engineering disciplines and functions.
o Candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
o Experience with Parametric Solid Modeling, Project Management, and Finite Element Analysis software.
o Experience in Solidworks is a plus.
o Experience with Microsoft Office products, email and the internet.
o Self-disciplined, self-motivated, and team player required.
o Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
o Must have a valid driver's license and be able to provide proof of car insurance.
o Occasional travel required.
Physical Requirements
o Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a long period of time.
o Must be able to frequently move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
o Must be able to frequently communicate with employees and exchange accurate information in these situations.
o Occasionally moves equipment and /or parts weighing up to 75 pounds.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
