The hospital has enhanced and expanded the health care services available to the greater Sullivan community with its state-of-the-art emergency department, modern childbirth center, critical care unit, multiroom surgical suite, expanded cardiac rehab services, and a cancer center.
A 22,500 square-foot medical office building provides offices for primary care physicians as well as space for a variety of visiting medical and surgical specialists from the St.
Louis area.
Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital operates four rural health clinics providing quality health care to surrounding communities.
In addition, the hospital operates a comprehensive Therapy and Rehabilitation department and an award-winning Wound Care Center with two hyperbaric chambers.
Our full-service CAP certified laboratory is open 24/7.
The lab performs a variety of tests including basic and comprehensive profiles, lipid panels, complete blood count, coagulation studies and therapeutic drug testing.
The lab also provides blood bank services and features an outpatient drawing room.
Preferred QualificationsRole PurposeThe Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) II performs specimen processing and routine / complex testing on blood and other specimens which requires a knowledge and understanding of quality control, basic instrument maintenance, and procedure methodologies and reference ranges.
Maintains appropriate documentation of all activities as required.
Demonstrates good clinical laboratory practice ResponsibilitiesOperates all instrumentation in assigned areas to deliver precise, timely, and accurate laboratory results.
Performs all testing and operation of equipment as necessary to deliver quality results.
Trains new laboratory personnel in methods, procedures and use of equipment and instruments specific to the assigned area.
Performs quality controls for all equipment and troubleshoots malfunctioning instrumentation as necessary.
Assesses technical and or instrument problems, including quality control and abnormal findings, evaluate possible solutions and chooses an appropriate course of action to solve the problem.
Reports and maintains record of patient test results through the laboratory computer system accurately, meeting published turn around times for routine testing and stats.
Participates in performance improvement activities and initiatives by proactively diagnosing and resolving problems.
Specific quality functions are handled in an organized and timely fashion.
Minimum RequirementsEducationBachelor's Degree - Physical/Life Science/relatedExperience.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
